Booloumba Creek – Camping

June 23, 2021

What’s at Booloumba Creek?

The Booloumba Creek Road access includes creek crossings that are accessible by high clearance four-wheel drive vehicles only.

There are three camping areas at Booloumba Creek. Grassy campsites are located in a rainforest and open forest settings close to mountain streams.

Camping areas 1 and 3 are nestled in the luxuriant rainforest.

They are high clearance four-wheel drive accessible and for tents only. Campervans, caravans or camper trailers are not allowed in these areas.

Vehicle parking spaces are provided beside the road adjoining the campsites—expect to carry your camping gear a short distance.

Some wheelchair-accessible toilets are provided—assistance is required to negotiate grassed areas.

Camping area 4 is in a grassy open forest and has sites suitable for tents and large groups.

The Local Campgrounds

It is accessible by high clearance four-wheel-drives towing high clearance caravans and camper trailers, and high clearance four-wheel-drive campervans. Book your camping spot below:

The Booloumba Creek Camping spot is situated in the Conondale National Park, and part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Queensland. This is definitely bush camping and very few facilities, rainforest setting and it has the most amazing, crystal clear creek for swimming.

Access is via Kenilworth or Maleny. You travel along the Maleny-Kenilworth Road and make a turn onto the Booloumba Creek Road. A two-wheel drive vehicle can sometimes pass, however, I strongly recommend a vehicle with a high clearance and 4WD capability.

The best camping spot is near Campground 3. Campground 2 is only for day-use only. For caravanners and camper trailer owners, you must use Campground 4. This is not a dog-friendly park.

Take some insect spray, bathers, towel and your camera. A GoPro gives you a great wide-angle shot and it’s waterproof too. In summer it get’s busy, so leave early to claim a great camping spot. Lastly, leave the campgrounds in a neat and tidy manner. Respect nature and the next camper. Take your rubbish with you.
